How to Import UPRNs from a CSV or Excel File

This article provides a concise guide on how to import Unique Property Reference Numbers (UPRNs) from a CSV or Excel file into Mapall.

Importing UPRNs (Unique Property Reference Numbers) into Mapall can be smoothly accomplished using CSV or Excel files. Below, we outline a straightforward step-by-step guide to help you import these details without any fuss.

Prepare Your Data File

Before beginning the import process, it is essential to prepare your CSV or Excel file. This file must include the following mandatory columns:

  • Latitude: Represents the property's latitude.
  • Longitude: Indicates the property's longitude.

You may also include an additional column if it is useful for your management:

  • UPRN (Unique Property Reference Number): The unique identifier for the property.

Ensure that the data is correctly formatted and that the file does not contain errors that could interfere with the import.

Upload the File to the System

To start importing the data, follow these steps:

  1. Access the toolbar of the management.
  2. Select the "Upload premises" button to upload the file from your device.
  3. Choose the CSV or Excel file you have prepared and confirm the upload.

Select the Premises for Import

After uploading the file, the next step is to select the properties you wish to import:

  1. Use the drawing tool to create a polygon in the desired area of the map. This polygon will delineate the properties that will be imported.
  2. Once the polygon is drawn, select the premises within the marked area. Only the selected properties will be imported into the plan.

Useful Tips

  • Data Verification: Before uploading, ensure all data is correct and complete. Errors in latitude and longitude data can result in inaccuracies in property mapping.
  • Data Security: Make sure the file does not contain sensitive or personal information that is not necessary for the import.

By following these steps, you will be able to import UPRNs efficiently and accurately, facilitating property management and spatial analysis in your projects.
