How to Connect New Premises in Mapall

This guide provides a step-by-step approach to ensure you can efficiently add new premises using the Mapall Planning Tool. Whether you're a new user or need a refresher, these instructions will help you navigate the tool effectively.

Access the Connection Tool

To begin, access the Mapall Planning Tool and locate the toolbar at the top of the interface. From here, select the "Connect Premises" tool. 

Select the Connection Termination Point (CTP)

The next step involves selecting the Connection Termination Point (CTP) on the map. This is where your new premises will logically connect to the existing network. Simply click on the desired CTP displayed on the map to select it.

Enter Cable and Section Details

Once a CTP has been selected, you'll need to provide details about the cables and the position of the section involved in the connection. Ensure all provided information is accurate to maintain system integrity and to facilitate a smooth setup.

Choose a Joint

After entering the cable details, select the appropriate joint for the connection. 

Add Premises

Now, it's time to add the premises. On the map, click on the pins representing the premises you wish to connect. You can select multiple premises by continuing to click on each required premise pin. Each selected premise will be added to the joint.

Adjust Selections if Necessary

If you need to unselect a premise, simply click again on the selected premise pin on the map. Should there be a need to delete all entered information and start over, click the “Clear all” button to reset your inputs.

Finalise the Connection

Once you are satisfied with your settings and the premises selected, click the “Connect Premises” button. This action will create and save the details of the new premises connection.
